Soldiers receive new rank, new resonsibilities

Maj. Gen. Joseph J. Taluto, The Adjutant General for the State of New York, announces the promotion of members of the New York Army National Guard in recognition of their capabilities for additional responsibility and leadership.

  • John Dries from Scottsville and serving with Company A, 2-108th Infantry is promoted to the rank of Staff Sergeant.
  • Thomas Getman from Dansville and serving with Company B (Maint) 427th Brigade Support Battalion is promoted to the rank of Private.
  • Timothy Hoy from Honeoye Falls and serving with Headquarters 42nd Infantry Division is promoted to the rank of Major.
  • Rick Desimone from Hunt and serving with Company A, (Distro) 427th Brigade Support Battalion is promoted to the rank of Private 1st Class.
  • Cordyn Mack from Caledonia and serving with Company A, (Distro) 427th Brigade Support Battalion is promoted to the rank of Private 1st Class.

Army National Guard promotions are based on overall performance, attitude, leadership ability, and development potential.

These promotions additionally recognize the best qualified Soldiers and attract and retain the highest caliber Citizen Soldiers for a career in the New York Army National Guard.
