50 years of Caledonia alumni reunite
For the fourth consecutive summer, Caledonia High and Cal-Mum High School classmates have reunited in town to remember good times and catch up on new happenings at the alumni reunion.
Connie Steedman and a group of volunteers organized the reunion, held in June at J.W. Jones Hall. Nearly 200 classmates from the classes of 1939 and up, some travelling from as far away as California, enjoyed the evening dinner and entertainment.
“Every year someone we haven’t seen yet from a different state makes it back here for the reunion,” Steedman said.
The Caledonia High School Class of 1949 celebrated their 60th reunion with 11 classmates of the class of 28 attending a catered picnic at Tennent Park on August 5. Seven of the 28 classmates have died but every month as many as can attend go out to lunch together. Carol Brown was president of the senior class of 1949.
The CMCS Class of 1979 gathered in town for their 30th reunion on August 1. On Friday night, the class enjoyed a tour of the school buildings and campus by fellow classmates John Bickford, a CMCS board member and Patrick Donegan, business administrator.
