Child struck by van during Springwater parade

On Saturday afternoon, July 3, following the Springwater Gala parade, a child was struck by a vehicle on South Main Street in front of the fire station. The male victim was hit by a southbound minivan after being waved across the road by a driver headed north.

Springwater Fire and EMS personnel were almost immediately on scene and requested a helicopter for transport to the hospital. The patient was transported by Life Net air medical helicopter to Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester.

The Livingston County Sheriff’s Office and the New York State Police were investigating the accident.
