Perry rallies past Letchworth

PERRY — Trailing by 17 points with just 8:35 left in regulation, host Perry went on a 30-11 run as they rallied for the 64-62 victory over Letchworth in D-II action Feb. 2.

The Indians led 51-34 with 35 seconds remaining in the third quarter, then saw Perry get back into the game with a 9-0 run in the fourth quarter. The Yellowjackets tied the game at 57 with 1:47 to play, then took the lead for good soon after.

Perry outscored Letchworth 26-10 in the final frame.

Perry junior guard Anthony Ricotta scored 16 of his game-high 25 points in the fourth quarter.

Ricotta eclipsed the 1,000-point plateau for his career.

Senior guard Alex Syberg netted a career-best 18 points — including four 3-pointers — and dished out six assists for the Yellowjackets (7-1 league, 13-3 overall).

Senior forward Max Mueller added eight points and Brad Myers six for Perry.

Four Indians scored in double figures, led by Ryan Owens with 19 points. Clifton Bacon hit a trio of 3-pointers en route to 13 points, while Jake Remington and Jordan Andrews notched 12 points apiece for Letchworth (5-3, 12-3).
