Some news from The Livingston Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation and Garden of Life’s “Our Home Observer” monthly newsletter. Many residents and guests have requested wi-fi connectivity for Internet accessible devices in recent years.
Unfortunately we have not had the resources to spend on this comfort and convenience initiative and so many residents have used the mobile computer carts available on each neighborhood and in the library for their needs.
We’re happy to say that, at last, we have established a budget and a schedule for installing a wi-fi system for resident and guest use. The wi-fi access will be free to users. The system should be in place and operable by the end of June 2012.
News from Dietary: In an effort to make your dining experience more enjoyable we’re excited to announce that we will be piloting a new program in February.
We will begin serving meals restaurant style on Lilac Avenue. You will receive your meal in courses much the same way you would if you were dining in the restaurant. This will ensure your cold things, and your hot things remain at correct temperature until you are ready to eat them.
We would like to remind you that we now have a substitution list, which is posted in your dining room, and we ask that if you know what your menu choices are, that you stick to the list.
On February 11 there will be a Vet’s Ice Cream Social in the Atrium, February 14, and at 2 p.m. There will be a Happy Hour Valentine Day Social, also in the Atrium.
Congratulations to Saysamone Kettavong, Activity Aide, who celebrates her 27th service anniversary this month.
Get well wishes to Wayne, Mary and Mike who are at the C.N.R. for rehab.
On February 2, Punxatawney Phil, the ground hog, made his 126th trip to visit Gobbler’s Knob, Pa. to present his predictions for Winters duration. He did see his shadow, so I guess we will have another six weeks of Winter. (I guess it has to end sometime).
If you have some news, an announcement, or a story to share, please call me at 658-3526 and I will be happy to pass it on for you via this column.
Words to Ponder: For every evil under the sun, there is a remedy or there is none.
If there is one, try to find it, If there is none, never mind it.
