GCS grad Meyer puts on the gloves for charity

MANHATTAN — Vicki Meyer, a 2001 graduate of Geneseo Central, was recently featured in the Wall Street Journal.

Meyer was one of 20 Manhattan District Attorney’s office employees that took part in “The Battle of the Barristers.”

Meyer, a third-year assistant district attorney at the Manhattan DA’s office, put on the boxing gloves for charity and won a three-round unanimous decision over Mirella deRose in front of a large crowd April 19 at the Broad Street Ballroom in downtown Manhattan.

The event raised more than $50,000 for the Wounded Warrior Project and Gleason’s Gym’s Give a Kid a Dream program.

Vicki’s parents — Randy and Sue — were in attendance for the fight.

Vicki was also a 2005 graduate at the College of Wooster where she was a starting guard and team captain for the Lady Scots.

While at Geneseo, Meyer was a three-sport standout competing in soccer, basketball and track and field. She was an LCAA All-Star in all three sports.
