Assault
Conar Rough, 16, arrested by Avon PD for assault III°: with intent to cause physical injury, April 18.
Christian Santiago, 20, arrested for assault III°: with intent to cause physical injury, acting in manner injure child less than 17, and resisting arrest, March 26 by Mount Morris PD.
Edgardo Santiago, 31, arrested for assault III°: with intent to cause physical injury, act in manner to injure child less than 17, April 16 by Mount Morris PD.
Drunk Driving
Brent M. Martin, 28, of North Chili was arrested April 22 by LCSO for Driving While Intoxicated, Blood Alcohol Content .08 percent or Greater and Speeding. Martin will appear in York Town Court.
Chad P. Andrews, 36, of Mount Morris was charged with Driving While Intoxicated, Blood Alcohol Content .08 percent or Greater and Failure To Keep Right on April 25 by LCSO. Andrews will appear in Mount Morris Village Court to answer charges.
Nicholas Callan, 24, arrested for criminal use drug paraphernalia II°: scales, criminal possession of marijuana V°: aggregate weight more than 25 grams by Avon PD on April 19.
Jeremy McGee, 33, arrested for driving while intoxicated , operating a motor vehicle with .08 of one percent alcohol or more in blood-first offense, following too closely, illegal signal: stop/slow without signaling, speed violation: speed in zone, operating a motor vehicle without inspection certificate, April 14 by Avon PD.
On April 29, NYSP Geneseo stopped a vehicle for traveling 80 mph in a 55 mh zone on Route 5 in the Town of Caledonia. Upon interviewing the driver, Melissa A. Ryan, 42, of Caledonia, NY, a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage was detected. The driver subsequently performed several standardized field sobriety tests that she failed. Ryan was arrested for DWI and transported to SP Geneseo where she registered a .11 percent blood alcohol content. She is to return to the Town of Caledonia court on on May 7.
On April 21, NYSP was investigating a one car property damage accident on Veley Road in the town of West Sparta. The police car was parked on the side of the road with its lights on. A vehicle that was driving on Veley road came to a complete stop behind the police car. After failed repeated attempts from the Trooper to waive the operator through, the Trooper then spoke with the operator, John M. Foose, of Hamburg and detected an odor of an alcoholic beverage. Mr. Foose performed standardized field sobriety tests in which he failed. He was transported to SP Geneseo where he registered a .18 percent blood alcohol content. He was issued a ticket for aggravated DWI and will appear in the town of West Sparta court May 3.
Thefts
Jennifer M. Maynard, 35, Leroy was charged with Grand Larceny IV° on April 23 by LCSO. Following arraignment in Caledonia Village Court, Maynard was remanded to the Livingston County Jail in lieu of $3,000 cash bail/$6,000 property bond. Maynard will return to Caledonia Village Court to address charges.
License and registration
Lenzy Blake, 22, of Rochester arrested April 24 by Geneseo PD for Aggravated Unlicensed Operation II°, Unlicensed Operation, and Speeding. Allegedly, Blake’s license was suspended five times on three different dates. Blake is scheduled to appear on May 8.
William Dean, 27, of Rochester arrested April 25 by Geneseo PD for Aggravated Unlicensed Operation III°, Unlicensed Operation, Expired Inspection, Operating with a Suspended Registration, and Uninsured Motor Vehicle on Mt. Morris Road. Dean is scheduled to appear in Geneseo Village Court on May 15.
Timothy Gorton, 25, arrested for operating a motor vehicle without inspection certificate, aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle III° April 12 by Caledonia PD.
Charles Sims, 42, arrested for circumventing interlock-subject to court order-operate motor vehicle without device, aggravated unlicensed operation II°, operating a motor vehicle without inspection certificate, April 12 by Avon PD.
Amy Pittman, 40, arrested for unlawful possession of marijuana, aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle III°, motor vehicle license violation: no license, April 11 by Mount Morris PD.
Alicia Powell, 24, aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle III°, speed violation: speed in zone, April 13 by Mount Morris PD.
Other Charges
Johnathon A. Short, 18, of Wayland was arrested April 18 by LCSO for Criminal Mischief IV° and Criminal Trespass II°. Short will answer charges in York Town Court on a later date.
Warren T. Greenough, 40, Mount Morris was arrested and charged with Promoting Prison Contraband II° on April 22. Greenough will answer charges in Geneseo Village Court.
Jun Kwon, 21, of Brooklyn arrested April 21 by Geneseo PD for Unlawful Dealing with a Child. Allegedly, Kwon provided an underage youth with alcoholic beverages. Kwon is scheduled to appear in Geneseo Village Court on May 1.
Gail Williams, 49 of Avon arrested April 22 by Geneseo PD for Falsely Reporting an Incident III°. Allegedly, Williams reported that she was involved in a motor vehicle accident, which was false. Williams is scheduled to appear in Geneseo Village Court May 8.
Elvin Johnson, 19, of Geneseo arrested April 22 by Geneseo PD for Criminal Mischief IV° and Trespass. Allegedly, Johnson damaged a screen door and was found trespassing on the property. Johnson was arraigned in front of Geneseo Justice Thomas Bushnell and remanded to the Livingston County Jail in lieu of $5,000 cash bail. This investigation is ongoing and additional charges may be applied.
Theresa Andrews, 43, of Leicester arrested April 23 by Geneseo PD on an arrest warrant signed by Livingston County Judge Dennis Cohen. Allegedly, Andrews violated the conditions of her probation.
Abraham Song, 21, of Long Island City arrested April 24 by Geneseo PD for Passing a Stopped School Bus. Allegedly, Song passed a school bus that was stopped, with its red emergency lights on, in the process of getting ready to discharge students. Song is scheduled to appear in Geneseo Village Court on May 15.
Charles Sutton, III, 21, arrested by Avon PD for criminal contempt II°: disobey court, April 9.
Todd Semmler, 43, arrested by Avon PD for public lewdness, April 21.
Damon Ciravolo, 20, arrested for harassment II°: physical contact April 17 by Caledonia PD.
John Maynard, 21, arrested for possession of burglar tools, March 31 and one count: petit larceny, April 4 by Dansville PD.
Child Safety Seat Check event
The Geneseo Police Department will be conducting a Child Safety Seat Check Event on Thursday, May 10 between 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Geneseo Fire Hall on Center Street in the Village of Geneseo. No appointment is necessary. If you are unable to make this event, please call Officer Jeffrey Szczesniak or Officer Daniel Piedmonte at the Geneseo Police Department at 243-2420 to schedule an appointment. The Child Safety Seat Event is funded by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration with a grant from the New York State Governor’s Traffic Safety Committee.
In court
After presentation by Eric R. Schiener, Assistant District Attorney, the following cases were handled in the Livingston County Court before the Honorable Robert B. Wiggins on April 24.
ROBERT C. CORBY, 53, of Dansville was sentenced to six months incarceration in the Livingston County Jail and five years probation as a result of a plea of guilty to Criminal Contempt I°, a Class E Felony. He was also ordered to pay surcharges and an eight-year Order of Protection was issued for the victim.
MICHAEL J. GATTI, 52, of Rochester was sentenced to four months incarceration in the Livingston County Jail and three years probation as a result of a prior plea of guilty to Driving While Intoxicated as a Misdemeanor. He was also ordered to pay a fine plus surcharges and his license was revoked with a requirement to install an Ignition Interlock Device.
GREGORY K. LESCHANDER, 36, of Lima entered a plea of guilty to Criminal Contempt iI°, a Class E Felony; and the matter was adjourned to May 8, 2012 for sentencing. His bail was revoked.
CHRISTOPHER OCHSENHIRT, 49, of Livonia was charged with Criminal Contempt I°, a Class E Felony. He was arraigned with his attorney, entered a plea of not guilty, and the matter was adjourned to June 5 for further proceedings. Bail was continued at $2,500 and an Order of Protection was issued for the victim.
MICHAEL J. PALADINO, 29, of Caledonia was sentenced to a term of one year incarceration in the Livingston County Jail upon a prior admission to a violation of probation and his probation was revoked.
SHAWN E. RONEY, 18, of Wayland entered a plea of guilty to Attempted Burglary III°, a Class E Felony; stemming from a November 2011 crime and also entered a plea of guilty to Attempted Burglary III°, a Class E Felony; stemming from a January 2012 crime. Sentencing is scheduled for June 5.
Randall Smith, 36, of Dansville was sentenced to four months intermittent incarceration in the Livingston County Jail and five years probation as a result of a plea of guilty to Driving While Intoxicated, a Class E Felony. He was also ordered to complete 128 hours community service and pay a fine plus penalty assessments. His license was revoked with a requirement to install an Ignition Interlock Device.
CURTIS P. WILLIAMS, 19, of Dansville was charged with Promoting Prison Contraband I°, a Class E Felony; Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance V°, a Class D Felony; and Perjury II°, a Class E Felony. On April 26 he was arraigned with his attorney, entered a plea of not guilty, and the matter was adjourned to May 8 for further proceedings. Bail was set at $50,000.
KERRY E. KIEFER, 35, of Penfield was charged with Burglary II°, a Class C Felony; Aggravated Criminal Contempt, a Class D Felony; Criminal Mischief IV°, a Class A Misdemeanor; False Personation, a Class B Misdemeanor; Aggravated Harassment II°, and Harassment II°. On April 26, she was arraigned with her attorney, entered a plea of not guilty, and the matter was adjourned to May 8 for further proceedings. Bail was set at $50,000.
After presentation by Victor D. Rowcliffe, Assistant District Attorney, the following cases were handled in the Livingston County Court before the Honorable Dennis S. Cohen on April 26.
STEVEN P. MANN, 55, of Nunda was sentenced to continue probation to include Drug Treatment Court with six months electronic home monitoring as a result of a prior admission to a violation of probation. He is also required to install an Ignition Interlock Device on any vehicle he operates.
THOMAS M. NEUBECK, 29, of Avon was sentenced to continue probation to include Drug Treatment Court with six months electronic home monitoring as a result of a prior admission to a violation of probation. He is also required to install an Ignition Interlock Device on any vehicle he operates.
MICHAEL T. QUENELL, 23, of Geneseo was sentenced to eight months community service and three years probation as a result of a plea of guilty to Petit Larceny, a Misdemeanor. He was also ordered to pay DNA fees and upfront restitution.
LUIS A. SANTOS, 41, of Rochester was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance III°, a Class B Felony; Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle I°, a Class E Felony; and Failure to Use a Turn Signal. He was arraigned with his attorney, entered a plea of not guilty, and the matter was adjourned to May 3, 2012 for further proceedings. Bail was continued at $15,000.
