Cal-Mum golfers claim D-II title

CALEDONIA — The Caledonia-Mumford golf team captured the Livingston Conference D-II title on their home course Thursday with the dual wins over both Avon (235-257) and Warsaw (235-273) at Caledonia Country Club.

Led by an outstanding 38 from Kyle Preston, Cal-Mum improved their overall record to 9-1, including a perfect 8-0 in the division.

While Preston led Cal-Mum, teammates Connor Millar (43); Matt Hayes (48); Ryan Sickles (53) and Trevor Swan (53) rounded out the scoring five for the Red Raiders.

Medalist honors went to Avon’s Chad Onderdonk who shot a 2-under par 34 to lead the Braves.

Jack MeKeel and Vince Crane both shot 48 for Avon (5-9 overall).

Warsaw was led by Anthony Monteleone’s 41 while Nate Wilkinson shot a 48 for the Tigers (2-12 overall).

The Livingston Conference Golf Championships take place Monday, May 14 at Woodlynn Hills Golf Course in Nunda.
