Donald J. Stead

DANSVILLE — Donald J. Stead, age 85, passed away early Monday afternoon June 4, 2012, at the Livingston County Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation in Mount Morris where he had been a resident for the past several years.

He was born in Bainbridge, N.Y. on November 14, 1926, a son of the late Lester and Linda (Frank) Stead. He was also predeceased by his sister Doris I. Stead. On September 12, 1948, he was married to Marion A. (Fisk) Stead, who survives.

Surviving in addition to his dear wife, Marion are two sons, Richard (Joan) Stead of Springwater, David Stead of Sparta, and a daughter, Julie (Frank) Guillaume of Dansville; a brother, G. Russell Stead; three granddaughters, Allison and Sarah Stead, Fille Guillaume; and several nieces and nephews.  

A memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are by the Hindle Funeral Home, Inc., 271 Main St. in Dansville. Interment, Oak Lawn Cemetery, West Sparta. Online remembrances may be left at HindleFuneralHome.com.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, or the Multiple Sclerosis Association.
