GENESEO — Marjorie L. Root, 93, of Haley Avenue in Geneseo died Tuesday, June 5, 2012 at the Conesus Lake Nursing Home in Livonia, N.Y.

She is survived by her children, Ronald (Joyce) Root of Charlottesville, Va., Barbara (Doug) Higgins of York, Roger (Kathleen) Root of Geneseo; daughter-in-law, Maureen Root of Geneseo; grandchildren, Kate, Kelly, Molly and James Root, Megan (Joseph) Bucci, Eric (Rochelle) Pray, Ann Marie (David) Smith, Andrew Root; five great grandchildren; brother, Robert Baldeck of Mumford.

She was predeceased by her husband of 62 years William Bradley Root, her son Gary Root, and her sister Helen Cameron.
She was born April 21, 1919 in Mumford, N.Y. the daughter of James and Neva Schwingel Baldeck.

No Prior Calling Hours. Funeral Services were held Saturday, June 9, 2012 at the York United Presbyterian Church at 3 p.m. with Pastor Raymond Lindquist officiating. Interment, Pleasant Valley Cemetery in York.
