Congratulations to Alecia Torcello

By Leo R. Downey Jr., David Downey, and Mary Downey Cisco

Our family would like to congratulate Alecia Torcello for receiving the Angeline M. Downey Teachers Scholarship.

We wish Alecia all the best in her future endeavors to become a teacher. Education is the root to success for each individual and our country as a whole to prosper and lead to a better future.

Our mother started her career in a one-room schoolhouse. She went on to teach fourth grade for many years at Mount Morris Central. Her students thought of her fondly and respected her for the teacher she was to them.

So Alecia, as you learn to become a teacher, we wish you the wonderful qualities our mother had in her teaching career.
