Eddie Meath Game Saturday
PITTSFORD — The Livingston Conference will be well represented at this year’s 30th Annual Eddie Meath All-Star Football Game which takes place Saturday at St. John Fisher’s Growney Stadium.
The West squad, which will be coached by Hornell’s Gene Mastin, is loaded with 15 former LCAA standouts including Class B NYS Player of the Year Dom Scavo, who will quarterback the West squad along with Way-Co’s Evan Englert.
Scavo is a 6-2, 200-pound quarterback headed to Ithaca College while Englert is a 6-0, 180-pounder that will play at Carnegie Melon this fall.
Livingston County News Football Super-22 Player of the Year Brandon Fuentes, Avon’s speedy 5-9, 170-pounder headed for D-III power Mount Union (Ohio), will play wide out for the West squad.
Other LCAA players that will compete for the West squad include Chase Tascone (6-1, 215, DL, Wellsville); Zack Pumputis (5-11, 155, DB, Avon); Matt Hartford (6-1, 170, DB, Cal-Mum); Chris Coniglio (5-11, 170, WR, Letchworth); Jon Cappotelli (5-6, 175, LB, Cal-Mum); Tommy McQuillen (5-11, 165, RB Le Roy); Michael Berardi (5-9, 180, LB, Wellsville); Ryan Owens (6-5, 245, WR, Letchworth); Jake Duppensiesser (5-11, 200, LB, Perry); Jordan Andrews (6-4, 260, OL, Letchworth); Levi Wormuth (5-10, 195, LB, Way-Co) and George Spezzano (5-7, 230, OL, Avon).
Mastin, who guided Hornell to 39 consecutive wins and three straight state titles, will be assisted by Cal-Mum head coach John Walther; new Hornell head coach Erik Werner; Cal-Mum assistant coach Matt Walther; and Hornell assistants Steve Donlon and Chris Koehler.
Kick-off is slated for 7:30 p.m.
