Dansville man charged with rape

Raymond Corbin, Jr., 45, of Dansville, faces three felony charges, including Rape in the Second Degree, after a Livingston County Sheriff’s investigation determined he was allegedly having sex with a 14-year-old girl.

Other charges include Criminal Sexual Act in the Second Degree. All are Class D felonies. The Sheriff’s

Office has been working on this investigation since March 2012 and made the arrest Friday.

Corbin was arraigned in Dansville Court before Justice Wiedman and held on $10,000 cash or $20,000 bond. An order of protection was issued to protect the alleged victim. Corbin was turned over to the custody of the Livingston County Jail and will appear in Dansville Court on July 25 for further proceedings.

The Investigation was handled by Investigator Brian Applin, Investigator, Thomas Dougherty and Investigator Huff of the Criminal Investigations Division of the Sheriff’s Office. Assisting with the investigation was District Attorney Greg McCaffrey and First Assistant District Attorney Victor Rowcliffe. Assisting was the Livingston County Department of Social Services Child Protective Unit.
