TRAFFIC ACCIDENT

One killed in Avon crash

The Livingston County Sheriff’s Office reports that one person was killed in a motor vehicle accident in Avon just after 2 on Thursday afternoon. A pickup truck towing a large horse trailer collided with a passenger car that pulled out into the road. The driver of the car, Charlene Ruliffson, 64, of Geneseo, was pronounced dead at the scene. A police investigation of the incident determined that Ruliffson pulled out in front of the pickup truck, driven by Peter Llop of York, who was not injured in the accident. Llop had the right of way and police say that he could not have avoided the crash. A horse that was riding in the trailer towed by the truck was not injured.

Agents of the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office, the New York State Police and New York State Department of Environmental Conservation Police investigated and assisted at the accident scene
