Western New York firefighters gather in Mount Morris
The Mount Morris Fire Department hosted the 113th Annual Convention of the Western New York Volunteer Firemens’ Association over the weekend. It was the first time since 1951 that the convention came to Mount Morris.
The convention was held at the Genesee River Restaurant and Reception Center, with a Tent City located in open field across the road from the restaurant. The tents served as space for educational seminars and socializing.
Events included emergency medical team, hose/nozzle handling and fire-police competitions; a memorial service for deceased firefighters at St. Patrick’s Church and a parade of 54 fire companies.
An entertainment area featured a DJ and two bands.
