Community rallies to ‘Bring the Babies Home’

Isabella Grace and Mason John Walther

John and Diana Walther say they are at a loss for words in trying to adequately thank the community members who have sent them well wishes of support for their premature babies, Isabella Grace and Mason John.

You will recall our story last week telling of the twins very early arrival while mom and dad were on vacation in North Carolina. The twins are in a NICU at Brenner Children’s Hospital in Winston-Salem, N.C.

Doctors expect that they will be strong enough to travel in a few weeks, but the cost for a medical transport from North Carolina to Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester is not covered by health insurance.

There is a fundraiser planned called, Bring the Babies Home, that will take place on August 24, 6 to 9 p.m. at 4 Corners Ministry Center on Caledonia-Avon Rd, Caledonia.

There will plenty of great food from local restaurants, live music and a silent auction of numerous fantastic gift donations. Tickets are $20 for adults, $10 for students 13 – 18, 12 and under are free. Tickets can be purchased at Cal-Mum School offices by calling 538-6811.

There is an online donation site established at indiegogo.com/bringthebabieshome. Donations are also accepted at Bank of Castile, 3155 State St., Caledonia, 14423, made to Bring the Babies Home C/O John Walther.

You can follow the twins progress on Facebook.

E-mail Sally Santora for more information.
