York principal leaving for job in Webster

Marygrace Ferrando

York Elementary School Principal Marygrace Ferrando is saying goodbye to the district after serving three years as principal of the kindergarten through fifth grade school. Her last day with the district is Aug. 13.

In her new position, Ferrando will work as the K-12 Director of English Language Arts at the Webster Central School District.

“Marygrace lead our Golden Knights’ Way theme at the elementary school, clarifying behavioral expectations and promoting character education. This is a big part of the positive, productive, and professional culture we continue to pride ourselves on at YCS. She also lead improvements in curriculum, instructional resources, and teaching strategies,” said Dr. Daniel Murray, superintendent of Schools.

The district posted the vacancy and received over three dozen applicants. The interviewing process concluded last week and Murray says the district is pleased to announce the hiring of Kate Noble as YCS’s new K-5 principal.

She will be in place for the start of the new school year, he said. Noble currently is the assistant school principal at Pavilion Central School.
