LCN photographer has “dream come true” with SI spread

GENESEO — Livingston County News photographer Michael Johnson reached one of his “lifetime goals” when a photo he shot received a full page spread in this week’s Sports Illustrated.

The photo was that of Washington Redskins’ Tyler Polumbus, a 6-foot-8, 305-pound right tackle featured in a story called “No Pressure, Man” — about unnamed linemen that are called on to protect high priced quarterbacks.

“It’s every photographer’s dream to have a photo appear in SI,” said Johnson, a 10-year veteran of the LCN. “When I first saw the photo, it was like a dream come true.”

Johnson shoots part time for Zuma Press, one of the world’s largest independent press agencies and wire services.
