Geneseo girls down Letchworth

GENESEO — Tatiana VanVliet entered Thursday’s game against visiting Letchworth with just one goal on the season.

And with her team in the midst of three consecutive shutout losses, the senior VanVliet needed to step it up.

She did.

VanVliet scored two goals — both coming within the first four minutes of the opening whistle — as Geneseo (6-7-0) doubled up Letchworth 4-2 on LCAA D-III action Thursday.

The Lady Devils also received a first half goal from senior Maddy Welch.

Sophomore Kelly Lynch scored with eight minutes left in the game.

Geneseo keeper Hannah VanWuyckhuyse needed just one save in the win.

Letchworth fell to 1-12.
