Kinney’s goal gives Livonia D-I title
BATH — Senior middie Mitch Kinney scored the go-ahead goal with just under two minutes left as visiting Livonia clinched the LCAA D-I title with the 2-1 victory over Bath Tuesday night.
Kinney’s goal, his seventh of the season, came after a deflected direct kick off the foot of Jack Simpson.
Divonte Geiger scored the first goal of the game in the first half for Livonia. Simpson was also credited with that assist. It was Geiger’s team-leading 14th goal of the season.
Wes Jackson scored unassisted for Bath (7-6-2).
The victory for Livonia improved their record to 15-0-0 on the season.
Livonia is ranked No. 1 in the state in Class B.
The Bulldogs have outscored their opponents 81-4 on the season.
They host Hornell (10-2-2) Thursday night in their regular season finale.
