Volleyball regular season wraps up

LIVONIA — The Livonia girls volleyball team captured the LCAA D-I title with the clean sweep over Hornell Oct. 18.

Livonia won by scores of 25-18, 25-6 and 25-22 to finish a perfect 8-0 in the division.

The Bulldogs got big performances from Lauren LaDuke with nine kills, six points and three aces; Kelly Hierlwimmer with 10 points, seven kills and four aces; and Nicole Donnelly with 14 service points and four digs.

Of the eight divisional games, Livonia swept every match in three sets.

Livonia (12-6) has no seniors on their roster.

Cal-Mum over Bloomfield

Senior Night was special for host Cal-Mum (6-12) as they defeated Bloomfield in four sets last Friday.

After dropping the fist game 13-25, Cal-Mum rallied to win the next three — 25-22, 28-26 and 25-23.

Cal-Mum was led by seniors Kim Chadderdon with three kills and two blocks and Emily Butler with 11 digs and four kills.

Bloomfield was paced by Peyton Robinson with 19 assists, seven digs and five kills.

Pavilion over Keshequa

Nicole Forti finished with 10 digs to lead the Golden Gophers past the Indians in D-III action Oct. 18.

Scores were 26-24, 25-19, 25-11

Marissa Kingsley added four kills in the win for Pavilion (7-9).

Keshequa (11-7) got 13 assists from Erin Gibson and eight kills from Helen Alloco.

Dansville over Way-Co

Host Dansville got 19 points with six aces and six digs from Margo Didas while Riley Conklin dished out 16 assists with five kills and four aces as the Mustangs topped Wayland-Cohocton in four sets Oct. 18.

Dansville won by scores of 20-25, 25-17, 25-15, and 25-22.

Kelsei Schuster added nine kills while Bri Long had 11 digs for Dansville.

Way-Co was paced by Megan Cheasman’s five points, three aces, six assists, and six digs, while Tori Markel added eight digs and five kills.

Perry over Cal-Mum

Up two sets to one, the Yellowjackets held off a Red Raider rally in the fourth set to win their final regular season match 25-16, 22-25, 25-17, 25-23 in D-II action Oct. 18.

Sydney Cowie finished with 13 kills for Perry, which used some good serving in the first and third sets to take advantage of the match.

Amanda Sprenger, Aubrey Davis, Chelsea Bzduch and Kelly VandeBogart all had nine digs for the Yellowjackets (9-9).

“We really match up evenly with Cal-Mum,” said Perry coach Will Stowell. “The last time we played, we went five sets and three of them were determined by two points. We really needed to have our best defensive effort of the season to beat them and we did.”

Cal-Mum was led by Jacquie Carson’s 10 kills and one block while Sarah Graham contributed seven kills and two aces.

Warsaw over Notre Dame

Haley Dumbleton had a double-double with 10 aces and 10 digs and she also added seven kills as the Tigers swept past the Fighting Irish 25-22, 25-10, 25-13 in non-league action Oct. 18.

Karmen Auble added eight kills and four blocks and Alyssa Girod finished with six kills and a pair of blocks for Warsaw (15-3).

Geneseo over York

Perfect in the division, again.

Geneseo came back from one set down to win the next three as they defeated York In D-III action Oct. 18.

The victory gave Geneseo (16-2 overall) their third straight perfect 8-0 season in the division.

Scores were 23-25, 25-14, 25-22 and 25-21.

For Geneseo, Annie Mills had seven kills and five digs; Bree Johnsen had 15 kills five blocks and Rachael Nicholls added 21 digs and four kills.

Dansville over Keshequa

Riley Conklin had 12 assists, seven kills and six service points while Margo Didas added 11 points, eight kills and four aces as Dansville slipped past Keshequa in crossover action Oct. 17.

Scores were 18-25, 26-24, 25-22, 11-25 and 25-22.

Kelsei Schuster had a game-high 15 kills with eight points while Bri Long added 10 digs for the Mustangs (7-8).

Warsaw over Cal-Mum

Host Warsaw (14-3) won in four games during D-II action Oct. 16.

Scores were 25-13, 17-25, 25-20 and 25-15.

Cal-Mum (5-11) was led by Katie Balonek’s eight assists and four kills while Sarah Graham tallied five kills and two blocks.

Geneseo over Oakfield-Alabama

Bree Johnsen had eight kills and eight digs as Geneseo defeated visiting O-A in non-league action Oct. 17.

Maggie Wheeler tallied 13 assists and 12 aces for Geneseo.

Hammondsport over Hornell

Brooke Clark had six aces and three kills as Hammondsport defeated Hornell (4-9) in non-league action Oct. 17.

The Lakers won by scores of 25-9, 25-15 and 25-8.

Hornell was led by setter Kaitlin Alfred’s seven assists and three digs while outside hitter Brook Potter added three digs.

Hornell over Way-Co

Jackie Clark contributed with 12 digs, 10 service points and six aces as Hornell won in D-II action Oct. 16.

Scores were 26-24, 25-18, 18-25 and 25-21.

Kaitlin Alfred tallied 28 assists and four aces while Chantre Milliner had 15 kills and three blocks.

For Way-Co, Alex Laclair had seven kills and two aces.

Geneseo over Way-Co

Visiting Geneseo swept past Way-Co in crossover action Oct. 15.

The Blue Devils won by scores of 25-18, 25-19 and 25-20.

Rachael Nicholls led the way with 26 digs and five aces while Bree Johnsen (16 kills) and Jordan Welch (six kills) combined for 20 kills.

For Way-Co, Jade Vangorder had five points, three aces, four digs and three kills while Tristin Markel added four points and two aces.

Letchworth over Keshequa

Taylor Shafter had 14 kills, 11 digs and five aces; Kelly DeGroff added 14 kills, 15 digs and seven aces and Taylor Griswold had 33 assists and 15 digs as Letchworth nipped Keshequa in five sets Oct. 14.

Letchworth won by scores of 19-25, 25-15, 25-23, 22-25 and 25-20.

Keshequa (11-5) was led by Madison Carts with nine kills, five aces and four blocks, while Cortney Clinton had 20 digs.
