Workshop to advise non-profits on record keeping
PERRY — The Arts Council for Wyoming County, 2 South Main St., will host a workshop for non-profit organizations called “Non-Profits: What you don’t know CAN hurt you!”
The free program is scheduled for noon Monday.
Assistant State Attorney General William Maldovan will lead the program which will advise non-profit leaders on various records that must be maintained with the state and federal governments.
Records must be kept available for review, financial procedures must be in place, State and Federal governments are closely monitoring non-profits to prevent unscrupulous people from taking advantage of the financial opportunities afforded non-profits and are removing 501c(3) status from organization that are out of compliance.
