Comments policy
TheLCN.com welcomes public comments in the interest of polite, robust debate. However, we insist that commenters identify themselves with their real name and allow us to verify their identity. Above all, we ask that people maintain a respectful tone.
The following applies to all comments:
1. Stay on topic. We will not typically allow digressions from the original story's scope.
2. There is no length limit on comments here, but we ask that you keep your remarks clear and succinct. No manifestos or long passages quoted from other sources.
3. Comments are not the place to introduce complaints against private businesses or individuals. Public agencies and officials, however, are fair game.
4. We respect expressions of faith, but please review points No. 1 and 2.
5. Do not use comments to advertise.
Your opinion will not be screened out for simply disagreeing with others, raising issues of public concern, or respectfully questioning The Livingston County News. Personal insults, offensive language and violations of our policies will not be tolerated. Speak freely, respect the community and be brave enough to use your real name. It's all we ask.
