On June 4-6, the Village Jeep driven by Dansville Village Administrator, Keith Petti, was parked behind the Dansville High School. This Jeep was observed separately by two individuals. This occurred during the rehearsal and the dance recital for a business that is allegedly owned by Keith and his family.

It is unethical, immoral or possibly criminal to allegedly use a Village of Dansville vehicle in the operation of a private business? Is it the “Good Old Boys Network” in action again?

This incident was brought up at the June Village of Dansville Board Meeting and the Mayor stated that he had given Keith permission to use the village Jeep. I guess the Mayor thinks it is okay to take advantage of the taxpayers!

Is there a Village of Dansville policy prohibiting the use of Village vehicles in a private business? Does there need to be a policy? I don’t know and I don’t care!

Why would a village employee think he is “entitled” to spend taxpayer money to allegedly use in the operation of a private business?

When you are hired by the village you get a paycheck and benefits. You are not “entitled” to anything! Should the village administrator be fired? Yes! Will the Village of Dansville stop functioning if the Village Administrator is fired? No!

Will the Mayor and the Village Board take any action? I doubt it!
