The Internet isn't the only place where your credit card information is at risk

Sheriff's Investigator Matt Burgess received a mid-August report from a Geneseo resident who found out his credit card account was being used without his authorization. Investigators discovered that the employee of a local merchant had copied the numbers off of the card and was using it in Geneseo and Mount Morris.

Katrina M. VanGelder, 20, of Retsof was arrested Monday at a home in Warsaw. She was charged with identity Theft in the second degree, a class E felony as well as Petit Larceny. VanGelder was arraigned before Mt. Morris Village Justice Walter V. Tripp and remanded to the Livingston County Jail.
