LEICESTER, NY — Joni Santucci hopes to fill the seat and maintain the legacy of her father Felix Valentino, who is stepping down from 12 years on the town board. She is a Democratic nominee and has been involved with the Democratic Committee since the first time her father ran for council.
Santucci was raised in Leicester, but was away for ten years when her husband Vincent’s job took the family to Cleveland and Chicago. Their son Michael, who is enrolled at the Ithaca College of Business, was five years old when the Santuccis returned to Leicester to stay.
Santucci works as an administrative assistant for the elementary principal at York Central School. Prior to that job, she was the deputy clerk for the Town of Leicester, a position which gave her a good view into the daily business conducted by the town.
She is also a member of St. Luke Church and former Sunday School teacher. She has also been treasurer for the YCS Odyssey of the Mind Booster Club.
