Cal-Mum's Chad Pieri has helped the Alfred University football team get off to a perfect 5-0 start.

ALFRED — A few local players are contributing to the Alfred University football team and their current 5-0 record.

Alfred is ranked No. 18 in the country.
Cal-Mum’s Chad Pieri has 15 tackles (seven solo) with one sack and one interception.

Bath’s Andre McCloud, who plays defensive back has 13 tackles (10 solo) along with two knocked down passes.

Le Roy’s Brady Bonacquisti has registered seven tackles (four solo) while Zach Wood (Livonia) has two stops.

Punter Peter Marley (Warsaw) is averaging a hefty 40.7 yards per punt with a long of 68 yards. He has five inside-the-20 punts.

After a bye week, the Saxons will hit the meat of their schedule starting Oct. 24 as they visit St. John Fisher College.

They will then host the University of Rochester (Oct. 31) before heading to Ithaca College (Nov. 7) for another huge Empire 8 showdown.
