The Village of Dansville held its second Neighborhood Initiative meeting on October 27. It was an opportunity for residents to come together, in an informal environment, and discuss issues relating to local government and the community.
The evening, which lasted two hours, was hosted by Deputy Mayor, Andrew Kershner and Village Administrator, Keith Petti.
Icy intersections (in the early morning) during winter and various signage problems were brought up by those in attendance. In addition, concern was raised over the school speed limit on Clara Barton Street. A radar patrol of that area was suggested.
Furthermore, the group reviewed and discussed multiple laws, including those related to skateboarding, junk cars, and sex offenders.
Lighting, particularly in the parking lot outside of the Town Hall and Church Park, was also discussed. In regards to Church Park, the group questioned whether a park grant could be used to light the sidewalks. Another suggestion involved creating an Adopt-a-Light campaign.
During the course of the evening, the Main Street Planter Program was also discussed. One idea for improving planter maintenance included creating an annual planter contest.
