LEICESTER, NY — The Livingston County Board of Elections’ final tally of votes and review of inspectors’ reports has produced a correction in the Town of Leicester which has changed the outcome. The unofficial tally on election night reported Democratic candidate Joni Santucci with 321 votes. In what Election Commissioner Susan Guenther characterizes as a “human error,” the numerals were transposed. The actual number of votes received by Santucci was 213.
The revision put Republican candidate Terrance Grant, who has 221 votes in the official tally, in second place and secures for him the second open council seat.
The other seat remains with Republican candidate Gerald Hull, whose official tally is 294 votes.
The official tally for the fourth candidate, Democrat Rose Lubanski, was 206.
