At this time every year I get anxious and worried about getting the Christmas lights and decorations ready. Question always is, can we do it on schedule?

Yet every year it gets done the same way as it did when we started this tradition — thanks to the Town Board's support, the dedication and tolerance of the Highway Department and those employees who help me get the job done.

Also to thank is:

• Dana Leonard of Geneseo Hardware for providing us with the portable lift

• Wal-Mart for donating Christmas lights

• Terri and Ken Book for loaning us the deer figures this year

This year Long Point Park has been added to the Welcome Corner at Volunteer Road and the Village Park light displays. We are only part of the whole picture so, at this time of year, let us be thankful that we have such a caring community.
