On Monday, young drivers were confronted with changes to state law regarding junior licenses under New York’s Graduated License Law. According to Livingston County Clerk James Culbertson, the changes – intended to protect younger drivers – are pertinent to junior permit holders that had scheduled their skills test for on or after Feb. 22.

Dock law dilemma

The Town of Livonia recently decided it wants to get out of the business of defining and regulating water rights lines. A public hearing will take place on March 18 for an amendment to the dock ordinance. The amendment includes text modifications in the persisting part of the dock law, but more significantly will delete all town law involvement with creation and regulation of water rights lines.

The ice is nice

It was another big turnout on Conesus Lake Saturday for the annual ice derby, which was the last of a four-part series of events on Loon, Silver, and Honeoye Lakes sponsored by Avon Anglers. The Conesus event continues the tradition started and long carried on by Art’s Bait Shop in Lakeville, maintaining a bit of history that is part and parcel to the lore of the lake.
