How very lucky you are to have such wonderful, professional, caring, and honest Sheriff’s Deputies and fire, rescue and ambulance volunteers in your community.
On Friday morning, Jan. 29, my husband and I had a horrendous vehicle accident on I-390 north, in the Town of Groveland.
We were traveling on dry bare roads and suddenly hit a patch of black ice on a bridge. The temperature was only about seven degrees.
Instantly, our vehicle swerved across the ice and into the median. We were spinning violently and rolling over and with each revolution gaining momentum, before lambasting sideways into the opposite embankment with a severe impact.
We were trapped! Confined by our seat belts, which did indeed save our lives, and protected by the integrity of the truck cab, we survived.
We were extremely uncomfortable in our predicament and in the extreme cold.
We were cared for with tremendous compassion, professionalism, and ability on extricating us from this situation by the Geneseo fire, rescue, and ambulance volunteers.
They were well-trained, caring, and calming through this ordeal, and even though we didn’t get each and every name to thank personally, I do want them all to know how very grateful we are for their presence in our hour of need.
We thank you all for responding to our emergency, and caring for us as though we were family.
Thank you!
