Livonia basketball coach Karen Schuster is one victory away from 300 wins.
HORNELL — Visiting Livonia (16-2, 7-1) clinched a share of the D-I title as they blasted host Hornell 56-25 Tuesday night in the Maple City as Lady Bulldogs’ head coach Karen Schuster won her 299th career game.
Taryn VanThof led Livonia with 18 points, five rebounds, four steals and three blocked shots while Brooke Mallaber added 10 points with three rebounds and three steals.
Holli Pierce netted seven points with seven rebounds while Jackie Minnehan scored six points with two boards. Cassie Pope contributed five points and 10 rebounds while Ali Malinowski tallied two points, eight steals and four assists.
Schuster will be seeking her 300th career victory Feb. 26 as the Lady Bulldogs will host a quarterfinal sectional game.
Livonia shares the D-I crown with Way-Co, who beat visiting Dansville 49-30 Tuesday night.
The Lady Eagles (14-4, 7-1) were led by Alyssa Englert with 21 points, four assists and three steals while Tiana Cheasman had 10 points and six rebounds.
Sarah Wolcott added nine points and six caroms while Katelyn Venable hauled down nine rebounds.
Dansville (9-9, 3-5) was led by Morgan Kennedy and Taylor Harnish with eight points each.

Coach Schuster. Wow!! Good for you. Your so deserving of 300 club. Your time and efforts have paid off. As i said, once you weren’t respected, to now one of the most respected coach’s in section v. I knew in 92 you where a good coach and after palmac game- i mention that soon i wouldn’t be the only person that knew ……love ya kid!!!

Congratulations on win 300, it was a very special night and so nice to see all the people there cheering you on and thanking you for your many years of devotion to the program! You deserved it all and more.
What you did not deserve was seeing win 301 go to the officials who literally gave the game to Way-Co with no time left on the clock ending your season. Such a great year for you and your team brought to an unfair end by the officials. I feel terrible for your girls after all their hard work. That official (and every person in the gym knows who that was) should be ASHAMED of himself.
