ROCHESTER — Cheerleaders throughout the Livingston Conference were jumping for joy as three LCAA teams captured their respective classifications at the Section V Cheerleading Championships Saturday at RIT.
Avon pulled off the biggest victory as they ended East Rochester’s reign of eight-straight sectional titles as the Braves won the Class C1 crown with 352 points far and away ahead of E-R’s fourth place finish (332 pts). The Braves also finished well ahead of runner-up Williamson, who placed second (336 pts).
Way-Co won the competitive Class B2 title as the Golden Eagles earned 345 points finishing ahead of runner-up and rival Dansville (340 pts) and third place Le Roy (331).
Perry captured the Class C2 crown as the Yellowjackets nipped Red Jacket — 322 points to 319. Pavilion was a close third (316 pts).
