Former HF-L standout Jessica Chapin is burning up the collegiate nets.

Chapin is a senior guard on the nationally-ranked Brandeis women’s basketball team.

Chapin led all scorers with 27 points last Saturday – including 17 in the second half – moving into sixth place on the Judges' all-time scoring list with 1,160 points, as the Judges defeated visiting Carnegie Mellon University, 70-58, in a University Athletic Association (UAA) contest in Red Auerbach Arena.

The win moves the Judges to 11-6, 4-3 in the UAA, while the Tartans fall to 8-10, 1-6 UAA.

Chapin reached at least 25 points in a game for the second-straight game and fifth time this season. She finished going 9-of-19 from the field, including 8-of-11 from inside the arc, and 8-of-9 from the free-throw line. Chapin also led all players with five assists.

Just recently, Chapin was selected as Player of the Week by the University Athletic Association (UAA) and as the New England Division III Player of the Week by the Eastern College Athletic Association (ECAC).

Chapin averaged 27 points, six rebounds, 2.5 assists, and two steals as Brandeis played games against New York University (73-68) and New England (77-81). Chapin shot 43.6 percent from the field (17-for-39) and 45 percent from three-point range (9-for-20).

Chapin is the Lady Judges all-time leader in three’s with 146.

Chapin also has a place in Brandeis's career top 10 in steals (221, 3rd place) and assists (218, 8th) and, with 30 more rebounds can become the first played in Brandeis women's basketball history to reach the top 10 in all four categories. Chapin, a pre-season All-America selection by D3hoops.com, currently leads the team and is second in the UAA in scoring average (18.1 ppg) and steals (2.8 spg).
