DANSVILLE/COHOCTON, NY — Ira E. Dye, of Crestwood Circle, 89 years of age, passed away early Thursday morning, March 4, 2010 at his home.
Ira was born January 11, 1921 in Cohocton the son of Eugene and Sadie (Werth) Dye. Ira was predeceased by his first wife, Frances in 1994; his sisters, Arlene Miller and Eleanor Hartman; and his brother, John Dye.
He is survived by his wife, Evelyn Lawrence Dye of Dansville; his son, David (Toby) Dye of Rochester; his grandchildren, Collin and Teagan Dye of Rochester; along with several nieces and nephews.
Ira’s family and friends called from 1-4 p.m. Sunday at the St. George-Stanton Funeral Home, 109 West Naples St., Wayland. Ira’s funeral service was held at 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. Pastor Greg Huth of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of Dansville officiated. Interment with committal prayers took place immediately following at St. Pius Cemetery in Cohocton. Contributions in Ira E.
