The body of a Springwater woman, with a reported history of depression, was found at the base of Letchworth gorge near Gardeau Overlook early Saturday evening, Aug. 14. She had apparently driven her car over a 150 foot embankment. Joyce VanMort, 50, had been reported missing from her Springwater residence since Aug. 9.

On Saturday afternoon, July 3, following the Springwater Gala parade, a child was struck by a vehicle on South Main Street in front of the fire station. The male victim was hit by a southbound mini-van after jumping off a wagon that was in the parade.
MOUNT MORRIS/WAYLAND, N.Y. — Donna L. Tubbs, 79, a resident of the Livingston County Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation in Mount Morris, died Thursday, April 29, 2010 at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, N.Y. Mrs. Tubbs had resided in Wayland previous to her admission into the nursing home.
