Jesse Sprinkle is a recording engineer and musician who lives in East Avon. Since August of 2008 he has made five trips to Uganda. His most recent visit was in June and July of this year.

Dave Missel of Mt. Morris completed a sweep winning three club championships last week in Singles, Mixed and Open Doubles. Carlo Filice of Livonia took second place in all three tournaments. Heather Burke of Avon and Mary Kennedy Doberstein of Conesus won the Womens Doubles.

Keyboard Kamp hosted its tenth annual recital concert on Tuesday, Aug. 10, at the Morgan Estates Community Room, presented by David W. Parish representing the Good Neighbor Committee. Ten of Geoff Clough’s keyboard students and four of Steve West’s guitar students performed.

U.S. leads export of nicotine and flab

The only good thing I can say about North Korea is that there is no McDonalds in Pyongyang and Kim Jong-Il and his gang aren’t blubbing up on Double Pepperoni and Cheese or Extra Crispy…. We did not invent concepts of limited government and individual freedom, but we took those ideas to new heights and urged the world to follow us. We do freedom of religion well, despite attempts to limit it by both the left (get rid of Handel’s Messiah in public schools) and the right (don’t allow a mosque to be built near Ground Zero).

St. Columba marks 125 years

The parishioners of St. Columba Roman Catholic church are celebrating 125 years of faithful worship at 198 North Street in Caledonia. The parish is participating in a variety of events leading up to November’s official anniversary when Bishop Matthew Clark will celebrate Mass at St. Columba. Last week the parishioners played in a golf tournament to raise money toward the celebration activities. A Christmas ornament to commemorate the parish’s anniversary is being created and will be available for sale this fall.
